New Blog! With bigger (and more) photos!

Just as with my photography, I am always trying to improve things here at unionphoto.ca and the blog was one aspect of the site that needed a little bit of loving. This refreshed version of the blog keeps all of the previous content of the old one, but adds in larger images in a wider viewing format for your viewing pleasure! It’s also fairly iPhone friendly for those of you who like to check in while on the go (I know that I’m guilty of it). I have also changed over the color scheme of the website and blog to be a little more viewing friendly. No more black. There’s still a ton of work to do on the main site, such as a new gallery system that will feature more start to finish weddings and albums as well some programming changes to make things load a little faster. So stay tuned!

We now also listed with Technorati Profile, so check us out there and give us some love!

Gallery Launch Party Video

A few of you have been asking about what ever happened with the video that was being recording while at the party – so here it is.

A big thanks goes out to my good friend Craig for creating this little gem!

Let’s get this party started!

Falling once again into the “Past Events” category was the Grand Opening of the new Union Gallery! Everyone has been bugging me to get the photos up – so here are a bunch!

The Opening was a grand success with clients, friends, industry associates and family enjoying not one, but two evenings of good wine, great music, amazing cupcakes and my photography of course! It has been a great transition to move into a proper gallery and consultation space – I am sure my clients will appreciate the relaxed atmosphere.

I really have to thank everyone who came out to make both evenings great!

An extra special thanks goes out to Allison Meridith of who made the great looking cake, Craig Goodwill for capturing video footage, Stephen (DJ Shagz) who provided the tunes for the evening, Sarah Bell who made the most amazing cupcakes and take-home treats (truffles!) and also to my parents, who helped make it all possible with their support! x

Peter loves Hilda – Engagement Shoot

For Hilda and Peter’s engagement shoot (fun shoot) we decided that a drive to Prince Edward County would be appropriate. It didn’t disappoint with the fall colours on a vibrant display and… a pumpkin patch to venture in!

As you can see, we had a great time exploring the country side while taking in the afternoon sun – and taking a few photos!

Thanks for the great afternoon in the county!

Richard & Michelle – The Wedding – Tralee, Orangeville

Michelle and Richard are an amazing couple that I have gotten to know fairly well over the past few months since meeting with them a number of times to discuss their wedding plans and to also do their engagement shoot. We quickly found out that we shared common interest in the environment and sustainable building – how cool!

The wedding ceremony and reception were both held at the Tralee, which is a great outdoor venue located just outside of Orangeville. It was a picture perfect setting for a fall wedding with tall trees, autumn colours, a reflecting pond and horse drawn a carriage ride to the ceremony. It definitely set the tone for what turned out to be a spectacularly simple wedding in the country.

It was a great evening Richard & Michelle – and have fun renovating your beautiful sustainable home!
